Counterfeit Eclipse HP-CS (ECL4500) products are currently being sold through third-party online marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, and Alibaba. These products were not manufactured by us and do not meet our performance or quality standards. All Iwata airbrushes are manufactured only in Japan to extremely precise tolerances and to the highest standard.

We are actively working with online platforms and appropriate authorities to remove counterfeit listings and protect our customers. If you have any concerns about a recent Eclipse CS purchase, we are here to help.

Please note: These counterfeit products imitate both appearance and packaging. For that reason, complete the packaging checklist in Step 2 before cutting the clear seals on the box.

Steps to Verify Authenticity

Let’s Verify Whether Your Eclipse CS Is Authentic

Follow the steps below in order if you purchased from a third-party marketplace after 11/01/2025.

Purchase Source

The safest way to ensure authenticity is to purchase from one of our Authorized Iwata Sellers.

  • Click Iwata Sellers below to confirm whether the store or third-party marketplace seller is legitimate.
  • The seller document includes third-party marketplace sellers authorized by Iwata.
  • You can also purchase directly from us at full retail price.

If you would like help confirming a seller listed on a marketplace page or receipt, click Help Verify and send us a message with a copy of the receipt or a screenshot of the seller. Please do not send hyperlinks.

What to Look For

Confirm the Seller on the Listing or Receipt

Always verify the seller. Do not rely on the brand name, “fulfilled by,” “shipped by,” or the listing description. If the seller is not on our authorized seller list, avoid the purchase.

If you already made the purchase and the seller is not on our Authorized Iwata Seller list, move to Step 2. If you are still within the return window, we recommend returning the product and purchasing from an Authorized Iwata Seller.

Before You Cut the Clear Seals

Inspect the hologram location, hologram image, and clear seals.

Before removing the outer sleeve, compare the hologram location and image to the references below.

  • The genuine Iwata hologram is always located to the left of the UPC barcode and above the safety marks.
  • The genuine Iwata hologram has a faint “swoosh” above the Iwata logo.

After removing the outer sleeve, compare the clear seals for size and placement.

  • The genuine clear circle seals are always 1.5 inches in diameter.
  • There are always 2 genuine clear circle seals, positioned lower left and upper right, with the Iwata branding right-side up.

After You Open the Box

Genuine airbrushes feature precision engraved branding that is cleanly cut into the metal surface.

If the branding appears lightly printed, surface-marked, or flat without depth, please contact us for verification.

Genuine Iwata products are recognized for precise finishing and cleanly engraved branding. While counterfeit products may appear similar at first glance, differences often become more apparent in machining quality, threading, grip texture, and the depth of branding marks.
